"I wonder if they would be happy if I did something like this..." I am good at using my imagination, so I tend to go above and beyond for the other person. Even though I vaguely understand that doing too much can have the opposite effect, I can't help feeling strongly that I want to get the other person's attention by doing something. If there are about two or three people you like, it might just balance things out.
